Time Tables Rock Stars
The school has subscribed to the Times Tables Rock Stars which is a carefully sequenced programme of times tables practice.
The focus of Times Tables Rock Stars is to:
- Support children to learn their times tables and the associated division facts
- Increase the speed of multiplication recall
- Improve accuracy of multiplication recall
During the autumn term 2018, TTRS was trialed in Year 5 and Year 6, which proved very popular as well has having a significant impact on the speed at which children could recall their times tables. Due to the success of this pilot in Year 5 and Year 6, we extended its use to involve all children in Years 2 - 6. Some children in those year groups may not yet be ready to begin learning multiplication facts, so we have bought into a similar scheme which will be provided for all Year 1 children and any other children who still need to focus on recalling number bond facts.
Your child has been given a log in and password to access their account.
This can be accessed via a website play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student or via the Times Tables Rock Stars app which is free to download on both Apple and Android devices. You will find attached a letter from the Times Table Rock Stars team which outlines the different ways Times Tables Rock Stars can be used.
Please continue to encourage your children to use this programme alongside other strategies you may currently use. Doing just 5 minutes a day on Times Tables Rock Stars is all that is needed!
