Year 6 leavers event - 11th September 2020

Dear Parents and Carers of Year 6,

As the end of the school year draws to a close, ordinarily we would be watching the Year 6 leavers show, hosting a leavers assembly and holding an end of year event after school. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our traditional end of Year 6 plans have not been possible.

This week we have been holding some small scale events for our Year 6 pupils who returned in June but unfortunately we are not able at this time to include children who are not attending. To enable all children to say goodbye, we have planned to hold a socially distanced Year 6 leavers event (in the format of an outside assembly) in September, in the hope that all children can attend, including any children who may shielding currently.

This will be on Friday 11th September at 5pm and will be outside in the KS1 playground, (entrance via the back gate).

We ask that children attend in their secondary school uniform (so we can see how smart they look) and are accompanied with only one adult. We recognise that in many cases it would be preferable for the whole family to attend, but to enable us to run it as a year group event, rather than class by class, we need to keep numbers down to enable us to put social distancing measures in place.

We will also be distributing the leavers t-shirts for the families who responded to the survey to order these.

To enable us to plan the event and arrange seating, can you please complete the survey via https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RGQ7JHG

You will be asked:

- your child's name

- if you and your child are going to attend (yes/no)

- name of accompanying adult

The survey will close on Friday 4th September at 4pm.

Yours Sincerely

Mrs Lodge
