Year 6 Summer Term events

Dear Parents & Carers,

We would like to share an update regarding several exciting events and opportunities taking place during the summer term for our Year 6 children. In the past, we have visited Adventure Island in Southend but this was working out at more than £40 per child this year. Instead, we have decided upon several events, some of which are free, where children can choose to do all or some of them.

We would like this final term to be a memorable and rewarding time for the pupils, with a range of activities, celebrations and transition events designed to recognise the children’s achievements, support their preparation for secondary school and create lasting memories with their peers and teachers.

Please see the dates and activities below:

Wednesday 17th June – Cinema Trip
We will visit the cinema in Bexleyheath to watch a movie. The cost of this trip will be £7.50.

Wednesday 24th June – Junior Citizen Event 

Junior Citizen is a transition event for year 6 children at Hawksmoor Youth Hub. This is a free event. 

Tuesday 30th June – Lesnes Abbey
This will be a fun day at Lesnes Abbey, where we will enjoy a sports morning and time in the park. This is a free event.

Thursday 2nd July – Flip Out, Canary Wharf
We will visit Flip Out Canary Wharf - a large indoor adventure park offering activities such as bumper cars, laser tag and a ninja playground. The cost of this trip will be £14.00.

Tuesday 14th July – Jimmy’s at The O2 and Bowling
 The children will enjoy a one-hour bowling session at Hollywood Bowl, followed by an all-you-can-eat buffet at Jimmy’s Restaurant. The cost of this trip will be £24.

Wednesday 15th July – Prom
 This will be an afternoon of fun, food, music and celebration, planned and organised by the Year 6 parents. Tickets will be £10. A parent committee has been set up and they would kindly welcome further support to help make the event a success. A letter will more details will follow shortly.

Letters with more information and Evole consent requests will be sent out for each event in the next week. Payments will be set up on the schoolgateway app. As these are ‘extras’ and not linked with the curriculum, full payment will be needed for trips ahead of us confirming bookings. We look forward to sharing these wonderful experiences with the children and making their final term at primary school truly special.
