De Lucy

Women's history month

Dear parents and carers,

March marks Women’s History Month and we will be celebrating this again at De Lucy. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about inspirational women, their achievements, and to discuss important topics such as equality and respect.

Each week, children will find clues posted around the school about a different inspirational woman and will be encouraged to guess who she is. The answer will be revealed at the end of the week in assembly. This activity is designed to spark curiosity and help students learn about women who have made a positive impact on the world. We will also have discussion prompts at lunch-time for both KS1 and KS2 children, encouraging conversations about gender inequality and how everyone can help create a fair and respectful society.

A date for your diary is Wednesday 25th March where we are encouraging children and staff to wear to show support for safety and equality. This could be a purple outfit or simply an accessory, such as ribbons, hairband, wristband, etc.

Thank you for your support as we celebrate and learn together.

Kind regards,
 Ms Maudhoo
