Social media posts - School fights
Dear parents and carers
This morning some parents have approached me about some social media posts which have appeared to organise ‘school fights’ between secondary schools, with messages talking about “Red” and “Blue” groups.
I have received some information about this from RBG. This is a London-wide social media trend appearing to organise ‘school fights’. These online messages originated in other parts of London and have unfortunately spread to our area. Secondary schools are working closely with both the local authority and the police to monitor the situation.
Whilst there is no reason to believe that this will affect us as a primary school, we will also continue to have staff presence at our school gates to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our children.
We ask that children who are ‘home alone’ go straight home after school and avoid placing themselves in any situation where there could be a prearranged meeting between different schools.
Please be reassured we will continue to keep you informed when we receive any further updates. We are hoping this communication with be proactive in keeping all of our children and school community safe.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
