National Online Safety - Parent courses

Dear Parents & Carers,

The online world is posing an ever-increasing risk to children, and it is important that schools, parents and carers work together to take an active role in teaching children about online dangers. Learning how to act safely when using the internet is an incredibly important part of safeguarding our children.

We are therefore delighted to inform you that we have continued with our commitment to protecting our pupils online by working with National Online Safety- providing resources for all parents and carers.

We have been working with National Online Safety since 2018 and we have achieved certification from National Online Safety in 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21. To achieve certification staff, governors and parents have to access set training as well as access and use resources. To enable us to get our certification this year, we need parents to access and undertake some training. These start from 4 mins long to more than one hour and are linked  to children aged 4 and upwards. You can pick and chose but they are really useful! Please help us to gain our certification by doing a short course and finding our something really useful at the same time.

The resources include Parents & Carers courses (presented by Myleene Klass), online video resources and weekly guides covering a huge range of topics, including:

  • Online Relationships
  • Fake Profiles & Social Bots
  • Online Bullying
  • Online Grooming
  • Child Sexual Exploitation
