Mental Health Week
Dear Parents & Carers,
This week is Mental Health Week. The children spoke about this in assembly on Monday with Mrs Lodge. This week’s challenge in the school is to ask people how they are, rather than a closed question asking if they are ok.
On Thursday, the children will be joining The Big School Workout: Live with Joe Wicks for Mental Health Week.
Joe Wicks will be leading a high-energy workout for children to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week. Schools across the country will be taking part together, discovering how moving our bodies can boost our mood, build resilience, and support our mental wellbeing.
At school we continue to explore the importance of wellbeing, kindness, resilience, and talking about their feelings in a safe and supportive environment.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by checking in with your child, talking openly about feelings, and reminding them that it is always okay to ask for help.
Together, we can help our children grow into happy, confident, and emotionally resilient young people. You may find some of the resources on the CBBC website useful to for your child, https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/curations/cbbc-mental-health-awareness
Also, parents and carers, please take some time to yourselves this week too, even if it’s simply a relaxing cup of tea or a gentle walk in the sunshine -while it lasts!
Take care
Mrs Anna Bryan
