Key worker/Vulnerable provision update
Dear Parents and Carers,
Just a reminder that the school will be closed for half term next week, Monday 15th - Friday 19th February. The school provision will reopen on Monday 22nd February.
Please see a few reminders below.
The school gate will be opened at 8.50am and it is expected that all pupils have arrived by 8.55am.
The school day finishes at 3pm and it is expected that all children have been collected by 3.05pm.
If pupils continue to arrive late (or be collected late) then the offer of the provision may be removed. Late arrival has a significant impact on not only your child but also other children, as staff from different pods cannot mix so they need to leave the classrooms to collect from the gate. Thank you to parents who adhere to the timings.
Thank you for wearing face coverings and keeping your distance from other families.
If your child will not be attending for any reason (illness, isolation, change to key worker shift pattern) then please report their absence via the StudyBugs app or Schoolcomms.
Key Worker shift evidence
If your working pattern is one that changes (either weekly/monthly) please ensure that evidence of your working hours are sent through to Mrs Moran via firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday lunchtime (at the latest) so that places can be confirmed for the following week. Unless places are confirmed, your child will not be able to attend.
Children should only be attending school as a last resort which is why we will not be offering places for children of key workers when an adult is at home.
Lunch and water bottles
All children are expected to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle (as water fountains are not accessible). Please ensure that both are named. recently, one or two parents have not sent their children with lunch under the assumption that the school kitchen will provide a lunch. This is not the case, the school kitchen is closed. All families who are entitled to benefit related Free School Meals have been provided with vouchers to replace the school meal offer.
Can we please ask that lunches do not include chocolate spread or nut based products as these can be incredibly dangerous to children with allergies. Thank you.
As much as possible we would like children to continue to wear school uniform to the provision, however, as the term has gone on, we are aware that children may have grown and their uniform may not fit as well as it did. As the shops are closed and we are also aware of additional financial pressures associated with Covid, I am not expecting parents to replace uniform during this time. If uniform still fits, then please ensure that your child wears it. If t-shirts and trousers fit, but jumper too small, just swap the jumper with a non school uniform jumper. The same applies to footwear.
Any alternative clothing that is worn must be practical and warm.
Staff lateral flow testing
Staff in schools are now given the opportunity to take a Covid lateral flow test twice a week to help us to detect any cases early to prevent spread within the school community. This is not a statutory requirement but a high number of our staff have chosen to take part in this. If any members of staff were to test positive then we would inform you immediately that the pod will need to close and staff/pupils self-isolate.
Covid reporting and tracking
The Department of Education has asked that schools continue with track and trace 48 hours after the end of term. Therefore, if your child starts to develop Covid-19 symptoms up to Sunday night, please email me to let me know so that I can look out for your child's test result. If any children develop symptoms (within 48 hours of being in school) and test positive for Covid-19, then I will need to inform families and staff that they need to self-isolate. Please email me via email@example.com with your child's name and your contact number. Please do not use any other method as Schoolcomms and other email addresses will not be monitored next week.
Thank you for your continued support in these challenging times,
